Read Between The Lines...

Although the US economy created over a 100,000 jobs last month and unemployment dipped slightly, don't celebrate just yet. The government isn't hiring and most of those private sector jobs are temporary. Also, a lot of folks just stopped looking. Some are being denied employment because they've been unemployed too long by some who are hiring. A lot of financial wonkers are wondering if the US is entering a new recession. To most of the unemployed we never got out of the old one.

Selling out to get a deal done

I hope the progressive Democrats say no to this deal. This whole "Default crisis" was manufactured by the Republicans and Tea Party crackpots in order to get massive cuts in spending on social services.  But, who I'm I kidding? The Democratic leadership will easily sell out its constituents in order to get a chance at winning next years election. Which brings me to my next question. Who do the Democrats really represent?

Getting away with Murder and Much More: George Bush and the Bankrupting of the US Economy

The assassination of Bin Ladin by the US Navy commando unit "Seal Team Six" was the final nail in the coffin of the Bush Administration's horrific hoax known as the Iraq War: Saddam Hussein and WMD and other manufactured lies of the Bush Crime Family. When I heard that Bin Laden was capped in US ally, Pakistan my blood boiled. Since the Reagan Era the US has been funneling money to, Pakistan our so-called proxy in the region.
Pakistan's ISI (Their CIA) was giving US money to the Taliban and financing the radical Madrasa schools throughout the region. But, I digress-Although I'm not a fan of CIA assassination of anyone, I and several classmates at CCNY believed 9-11 was an crime not an act of war. Further, we agreed that 9-11 was best handled as a FBI/CIA-NYPD investigation. Bush was better off telling the world that this was a criminal investigation and that eventually the people responsible would be apprehended or killed. Instead, being the low -brow-intellectual that he is, Bush let himself be "Rope-A-Doped" by Bin Laden into deploying US military might in the Middle-East.  This was exactly what Bin Laden wanted Bush to do. Bin Laden used the US invasion of Iraq to make Al Qaeda a symbol of Muslim liberation. The rest is history. We know the sordid details of the Bush administration deceptions to manufacture world-wide consent for the invasion of Iraq. It was a criminal act and the Bush administration got away with these war crimes. But, eventually someone has to pay. Unfortunately, it's the everyday working people who are now facing raising interest rates on home, car and credit cards if the US defaults August 2, because the same people who caused this economic mess refuse to raise the US Debt Ceiling. If this happens the money, just like in the Wall Street Bail-out of 2008-09, goes to the Banksters and Fat Cats on Wall Street. Just think if we didn't go to war in 2003. Imagine if Bush would have just dispatched a team to track down the Al Qaeda thugs. Thousands of lives would have been saved. We would have more than enough money to rebuild our crumbling infrastructure, healthcare, education and other social services. The high unemployment, cuts in social services, mass layoffs of state workers, states that are literally broke are but the aftermath of the Bush debacle in Iraq. Default day is rapidly approaching. As of this post both sides are still far apart. As the late New York Mets announcer, Bob Murphy would say in a late inning game "Folks Fasting Your  Seat belts!"

This stalemate over "rising the "Debt Ceiling" is President Obama's fault. President Obama wanted to accommodate the so called political middle and instead of ramming through a progressive agenda on "card check' for unions, passing a much bigger
'stimulus bill( like Paul Krugman and Joseph Stiglitz advocated) or locking up Wall Street Banksters that helped plunge our economy into a ditch when he had a democratic majority in both the Congress and the Senate. (Unemployment is not 9% its really damned near 15% folks) He wanted to compromise and play a game of "Mr Nice Guy" that his opposition was more than ready for. The Republicans got their marching orders on day one from radio pundit Rush Limbaugh. Limbaugh cried that he "wanted Obama to fail"on his syndicated rant-fest. When the conservatives come to power they aggressively push their political agenda with 'both guns blazing'. When the Democrats come to power (Carter, Clinton and now Obama) they eschew, ridicule and shit on their left-progressive base to try to curry favor to the so-called middle, thus hindering the rise of a true progressive movement within the Democratic party that would eradicate its hypocritical bourgie-elitist leadership and pass legislation that would empower the working-class, tackle poverty, rebuild our antiquated infrastructure and improve our environment. But, the elites of the Democratic party stymie the aspirations of its progressive wing with this appeasement of the so-called middle. The centrist stasis. Obama's political opposition spat on the hand he offered of bi-partisan compromise from the jump. Heck one even called the President a " liar" during his fist '"State of the Union " speech. Obama should have seen the event over the 'Debt Ceiling' coming. How could Obama compromise with the very folks who got us in this financial jam. The Republicans and the Tea Party Crackpots have no long term vision for raising the standard of living for working Americans. Once again, the Republicans with their Tea Party Crackpots aim to give the rich more tax breaks, gut all regulation that hinder the rich elite and corporations from completely running the country. Your government would be reduced to a mere rubber stamp for the wealthy. In their aim to see Obama fail Republicans and Tea Party crackpots are prepared to wreck the U.S. economy because they know that a economy in a double-dip recession will spell political doom for Obama in the 2012 elections. When dealing with the Republicans Obama should have adhered to an old African proverb from Zaire: "The teeth are smiling, but is the heart?"
